Networked Miele domestic appliances with Wi-Fi technology offer a wide range of options and additional benefits. Miele has developed the system to allow for easy installation and use of the appliances in a home environment.
Successful networking of the devices depends on other components and systems, such as your internet connection, home network and smartphone. We have compiled the necessary system requirements for you below:
Necessary infrastructure |
Detail specification |
Wi-Fi with sufficient signal strength at the installation site |
The following Wi-Fi requirements apply:
For a simplified connection to your home network, the WPS Push Button configuration is also supported. For a stable connection in a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, Miele recommends using channels 1, 6, or 11. To avoid interference, Miele also recommends enabling 20/40 MHz coexistence in environments with many Wi-Fi networks – a router setting that automatically reduces the channel width to 20 MHz when interference is detected. Wi-Fi connections that are preceded by a captive portal (network pre-switching pages such as in hotels) cannot currently be used for networking. When using mesh, Miele recommends using products only from one manufacturer and following the manufacturers installation instructions. Deviations from the aforementioned requirements as well as special network configurations may mean that the networking of Miele appliances or individual functions are not available or only available to a limited extent. Miele provides comprehensive customer support within the scope of its responsibility. However, the configuration of the home network falls under the customer's responsibility and is not covered by Miele support. |
Internet connection of the domestic Wi-Fi network (Internet connection with stable bandwidth) |
A continuous and stable Wi-Fi/Internet connection is required to use all Miele@home functions fully and optimally. A proxy server is currently not supported. |
Apple iOS or Android™ smartphone with installed Miele app |
The Miele app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or on Google Play Store in all countries where Miele@home is marketed. The current terms of use and data privacy can be viewed at any time via the Miele app without a user account/device installation. The iOS Miele app currently requires iOS 13 or higher. Older versions are not supported. The Android Miele app currently requires Android 10 or higher, older versions are not supported. On Android, we assume that the Google Play Services are installed. Also, our app can currently only be downloaded from the Google Play Store. It is recommended to perform available operating system updates. We reserve the right to adjust the minimum requirements for the version of the smartphone operating system over time with new app versions. In principle, our aim is that the Miele app can be used on all commercially available smartphones and tablets that meet the above requirements. Due to the large number of different devices, the function or partial function cannot be guaranteed in every individual case. |
Miele user account (can be created with the Miele app) |
Networked domestic appliances are installed using the Miele app. A Miele user account must be created in order to install and use the networking functions. |
Miele domestic appliances with Wi-Fi |
Up to 12 Miele domestic appliances with Wi-Fi networking can be securely integrated into a Miele user account. If there are more than 12 appliances in a Miele user account, there may be restrictions such as longer charging times. |
Special features of individual functions and products
SuperVision display |
Many built-in appliances (see equipment overview of the respective appliance) offer the option of displaying the status of other Miele appliances on the appliance display (e.g. the remaining time of a washing machine on the appliance display of the oven). To use this function, all appliances must be logged into the same home network. For details on how to activate SuperVision, please refer to the user manual of your built-in appliance. |
Robot Vacuum Cleaner Scout APP |
Required Android Version: 7.0 or higher To use the live image transmission "Home Vision", there are the following requirements for the Internet connection:
No WPS Push Button configuration is available for this unit. |
Voice control with Amazon Alexa |
Miele offers the "Miele" Alexa Skill for voice control with Amazon Alexa in individual countries. Amazon Alexa is a product and service of Amazon.com Inc. |
Voice control with Google Assistant |
Use the Miele Action on Google for voice control with your Google Assistant-enabled device in individual countries. Google Assistant is a product and service of Google LLC. |
Integration into third party systems |
Miele offers an open interface for integration into third-party systems. For more information, please visit https://www.miele.com/developer/. |
